Hey there, sounds fun.
I wrote some thoughts below. Let me know if you have any questions :
Garrett Pierce – All Masks – his album i so perfect. The songs are wonderful the production and arrangements are beatiful it really soars and it’s something i will think back to when i begin to record again.
The Pupils – (self titled) – the whole album is great, but « All the People » and « Go to Gone » are my favorites. I’ve been listening to them a lot and playing along on the banjo. I’m thinking about doing a cover of one of them.
Im also listening to P.J. Harvey’s “Horses in my Dreams” a lot. Frank Floyd, who plays piano with me, has worked out a nice arrangement of it. So I’m trying to learn the words.
Alina Hardin (self titled) – both delicate and strong. I love it and when it’s over I want to start over and listen again.
Band of Annuals – Great band and super nice people from Salt Lake City, Utah. The songs are great, the harmonies are to die for.
Horsefeathers – House with No Home – probably my favorite album of 2008. It’s just undeniable.
Jolie Holland – the Living and the Dead – some songs, like “Mexico City” and “The Future” are the kind of songs that I want to hear again as soon as they are over. I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve listened to them.
Bali : Gamelan Semar Pergulingan :Gamelan of the Love God – this is one of my favorite gamelan records and it works it’s way back into heavy rotation over and over again since I got it maybe 10 years ago. I love to just get lost in it while taking a walk or falling asleep on a train.
